Pingee (“Pingee”, “we”, “us”) is a website monitoring service operated by Pingee, The Old Hangar, Elton Road, Peterborough PE8 6NE, United Kingdom. You can contact us at hello@pingee.online.
These terms apply when you create an account or use pingee.online and the Pingee service. By creating an account you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Pingee checks websites you tell us about and emails you when something needs attention. Depending on your plan, this includes website availability, SSL certificate expiry, email and DNS settings (MX, SPF, DKIM, DMARC), mail-server blacklist status and domain expiry. The free check on our homepage is a one-off snapshot.
What Pingee does not do. Pingee detects and reports problems. It does not fix them, prevent downtime, or replace hosting support, backups or website maintenance. Checks run from a single location at set intervals, so a short outage, or a problem that only affects some visitors, may not be detected. Results come from public information and may occasionally be wrong or delayed. Alerts are sent by email, and email delivery is not guaranteed. Please do not rely on Pingee as your only way of finding out about a problem.
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. Give us accurate details, keep your password secure, and tell us if you think your account has been accessed without your permission. You are responsible for activity on your account. You must verify your email address before monitoring starts.
You may only add websites and domains that you own or are authorised to monitor. By adding a website you confirm that you have that permission. Our checks send light requests identified as PingeeBot. You must not use Pingee to attack, overload, scan or probe anyone else’s systems, to break the law, or to interfere with the service. We may suspend monitoring or an account that breaks this section.
Plans are billed monthly in advance in pounds sterling (GBP), at the price shown when you subscribe. Payments are taken by Stripe, our payment provider. We never see or store your card details.
VAT. We are not currently VAT registered, so no VAT is added to our prices. If that changes we will tell you in advance and explain how it affects your price.
Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. If a payment fails we will tell you and Stripe may retry it; if it is not resolved your plan may be paused or cancelled. We may change prices on at least 30 days’ notice; the new price applies from your next renewal and you may cancel before then.
You can cancel at any time from the billing portal on your Account page. Your plan then stays active until the end of the period you have paid for, and will not renew. We do not give refunds for part-used periods, except where the law requires it or where we choose to as a goodwill gesture. If you are a consumer, you may have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of first subscribing; if you ask us to start the service straight away, you may need to pay for the service used in that time.
We aim to keep Pingee running but do not guarantee it will always be available or error-free. We may update, change or withdraw features (for example form testing, which is not yet available and is not part of any plan) and will give reasonable notice of any change that significantly reduces what you have paid for.
How we use personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy. You can delete your account at any time from the Account page, which removes your websites and monitoring history.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation. Subject to that: we are not liable for losses caused by a problem Pingee did not detect or reported late, for lost profit, lost business, lost data or indirect losses; and our total liability to you for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected.
You can stop using Pingee and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if payment is not made, or if we have to by law, and we will normally tell you why. On ending, your monitoring stops and your data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.
We may update these terms. For material changes we will give you at least 30 days’ notice by email or in your account. Continuing to use Pingee after that means you accept the updated terms.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, although if you are a consumer living elsewhere in the UK you may also use your local courts.
